The Knight in Community Work
Prince Lloyd representing the Chivalric community in general and The Religious and Military Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulchre in particular, has worked in public service for many years. The Prince believes that public service is not only personally fulfilling, but also that such service is part of the duty of the modern Knight and Noble. Just as the duty of the ancient Knight was to protect Society through force of arms, so the Prince believes that the modern Knight should protect Society through service to others. Thus, the Prince encourages the modern Knight to work with and in charities, hospitals, and education. The Religious and Military Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, of which the Royal Duke is Prince Grand Master, has charitable projects, and its Bailiwicks also support various charitable endeavors.
On a personal level, the Prince, like so many modern Knights, has for decades presented educational and informational programs for many public groups and has worked privately for the success of several programs (such as Right to Read), not only in the State of Colorado, but in many other States, including Louisiana, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. Civic and charitable groups often acknowledge their hard workers, and the Count of Maxalla has received many awards, certificates, and commendations. On rare occasions, the federal and state governments of the United States also recognize worthwhile endeavor. Depicted above is governmental recognition, a 1993 Citation from the Senate of the State of New Jersey commending the Count (as Baron Worley of Christy) for his work in the field of Chivalry.
